Oh Canada!

OK consider that recent post with the passports a teaser.

You probably thought we were headed off on some exotic amazing vacation right?

Riiigghhhttttt……..

Nope.

Canada.

Not very exotic or amazing but another country nonetheless.

Alec’s lack of interest in the power company was because he could see the bridge to Canada and how high it was and he spent a good amount of time concerned that we were going to cross such a large (high) bridge. He did enjoy himself at the power plant but not as much as he would have if he hadn’t seen the bridge. (This did not actually come out until we were driving away from the big bridge to a different bridge and he made a comment about being SO happy we were not going over the bridge).

After crossing the border we made a quick stop at a grocery store for some fruit and other grocery items for our room. A few healthy choice to offset the vacation food.

Next stop checking into the hotel. The room was an interior view room which we thought meant looking to the inside of the hotel…maybe overlooking the lobby. Reality was that it had a window that went virtually no where. I know. Me in a room without a real window. Yikes. My claustrophobia kicked in but I managed.I had to rationalize that the rooms across the hall had full windows and if I needed a window (in case of a fire) I could bang on their doors until someone would let us in. I know. It’s scary in my brain, isn’t it?? But hey, it helped me sleep at night.

With those thoughts..the less time spent in the room – the better. Off we went.

Next stop? Checking out the pools.

This is the view from one of the hotel’s two pools. Nice!

It was evening at this point so decided to go walk around and look for some snacks. We purposely booked our hotel in touristy honky tonk part of Niagara Falls so if we needed something – it might be handy. This allowed us to do some silly stuff that we might not have done otherwise. Ya know…a real vacation.

We did the sky wheel below. 175ft in the air. That’s pretty big for someone who doesn’t like heights. Like me. But I did it. Yeah me!

The London Eye is 420ft in the sky.

Yep…that’s big.

And after a dinner of ice cream (hey-it was vacation…and very hot!) we headed down to see the falls at night.

Then off to bed.

A good first night.
