Flowers Part II

Finally! A taste of spring! I ducked out of work early today for some fun in the sun with our beloved Todd girls. I’ve been working too much and not playing quite enough. It was time!  The kids played fabulously and Carrie and I had a nice time discussing and dissecting all the details of the royal wedding or is it The Royal Wedding?  Whatever. It was fun.

After the bikes had been ridden, the bubbles blown and snack had…I dragged everyone to the cemetery for a flower viewing because I knew today was THE day. And it was.  There were a few mishaps of sinking into mud and possibilities of loosing flip flops in the mud but all was well and well there is nothing sweeter than seeing the young ones running in a field of flowers.

I am sure you are sick of the flower pictures…but I’m not done yet…maybe just a few more……I took 136 or so. No I’m not kidding.

I guess I’m done.

Wordless Wednesday “Wicked Smart”

It’s that time of year again

Alec and I took a swing by the cemetery on our home from school last Friday to check out the flowers. They were almost there-I’d say this week will be full bloom.  Every year we go and every year I take pictures and never do the pictures do it justice. Never. And it never gets old trying.

Lets start with breakfast with bunny on Saturday morning.

We left  a note

And the Bunny came. He brought a dump truck instead of a basket with some goods inside!

We stopped our fun for a little breakfast.

And then got ready for the rest of our day.

And yes…the vest came out.

Later we had some dinner..no ham dinner for us. We grilled! Yum!

We spent lots of time outside playing. 

And that was pretty much our day.

Many Happy Birthdays to you….all

It was my sister Pam’s birthday yesterday.  Happy Birthday Pam!

In honor of her birthday we celebrated Hilary and Tom’s birthdays…belated. About 20 days belated. Confused?  Don’t be. Just go with it.

It was a wild and crazy time!

Go Diego Go!

Alec has made great progress in the biking arena after only a few days of pulling it out of the basement. 

Sometime I have to laugh at the ineptness of my (our) parenting. As you may recall Alec was not so psyched for his bike once we put it together just after Christmas and if you don’t remember then just click this link bike post.  He struggled off and on throughout the winter in the basement riding the bike. This kind of perplexed us. We thought maybe there was something wrong with the bike- why was it so difficult for him to get it going. Why was he struggling? He’s in great shape- this should be a no problem. But it was.

When I brought it up from the basement last weekend  I noticed that the tires felt pretty flat. Very flat. 

Duh.

Major DUH.

Erik pumped up those tires and Alec hasn’t looked back!

He’s still getting comfortable with the speed factor when going down inclines but he was mastered the brakes pretty well so it’s just a matter of time before he is flying.  I can’t wait to see it! And the funniest part (IMHO of course) is that it is a Diego bike and he sings “Go Diego Go” as loud as he can as he pedals down the sidewalk.  I’m sure our neighbors are thrilled.
