Friday Phone Pics

I really stink at getting this done on time!

My new favorite spot!

It’s Maine and it is summer which means it can from this to this in 24ish hours. Don’t blink!  It might go back!

Noelle made these cute little snacks for Ben’s class. She dropped a few off for Alec for his birthday. HE LOVED THEM. Who wouldn’t really?  A mini candy bar- M&M and a teddy graham.  Yum!

IMG_1279Alec’s school was having a fundraiser at 99 on his birthday so after swimming lessons we headed there for dinner.  We all had a good time munching and the waitress did clappy thing and brought him a sundae. He was thrilled.

The butterflies hatched! (Is that what they do?)

My cucumber plant died. :(

After the Alec pukefest for his birthday party – we spent the next day at home. It was 95% and humid. Since he was feeling a bit better I told him that he could play in the sprinkler if he wanted. He chose to sweep the garage. Further proof that he is his fathers child should not be needed.

And to finish off the week- a little nap after all that hard work.

What’s not so cool?

Being sick for your birthday party.

We had a pretty busy birthday day for Alec so we celebrated his birthday with family the day after his birthday.

Unfortunately it didn’t turn out so well for him.

Alec came home from school saying his stomach hurt. I didn’t really listen that closely to him. Kids just say things sometimes and besides – I was getting ready for a party. His party. Unfortunately for me-Alec doesn’t usually complain about being sick unless he is.

Guess what? He was.

Except that we didn’t know that when he was bouncing.

Until he got out and puked. (no I didn’t take pictures). We got him cleaned up and kind of passed it off as too much food before bouncing or too much heat on our first really hot day of summer.

We didn’t let him bounce again.

Instead we did other things like torture little boys by taking their picture.

This is what it took to get 3 boys to smile at the same time for 1 picture.

There was cake:

035 There were candles:

068 There was blowing out of the candles by the boy who puked. Not smartest choice in hindsight. Since my hindsight also knows that he will puke again in the future. Fastest way to spread germs?  Blow on food everyone will eat.

070 Warning signs were there:  he ate nothing for lunch or dinner. He walked away from the cake with not even so much as a lick of frosting. He kept just laying around and was lethargic (for him).

We moved on to opening presents:

079086 As Noelle said ‘You know your kid is sick when he lets other kids open his presents’. And he did. And he let me help too.

102 095 Almost done unwrapping presents – he left the room and went into his bedroom. And puked and puked and puked. Thankfully I had followed him and had a towel waiting.

My poor baby boy.

On a brighter note – there were plenty of family here to celebrate (hopefully we didn’t get them sick).

The birthday party kind of came to an abrupt end when Alec puked again. Nothing kills a party like a puker.

And since no one likes to end a blog with puke….here are some pictures of the morning before it all went downhill.

And after school (although he said his tummy was hurting then).

Puking aside – I think he had a pretty decent day after his birthday.
