Happy Kitty

 099

While we moved Shania was locked in the laundry room and as you can imagine- she was thrilled *said with sarcasm*. Once all our helpers left she took some time to hang around us and check out her new digs. Happy kitty.

Fun time @ Funtown

All work and no play makes Alec a cranky boy. After spending quite a bit of time unpacking boxes, arranging furniture and cleaning the new house- we decided to take some time out for a little fun. Erik and I took Alec, Leo and Nana for an afternoon at Funtown.  It was cloudy when we got there which really worked in our favor. The clouds kept the crowds away so there were no lines for the rides. And after a brief shower, we had clear blue skies for the rest of the evening.

If you look at Alec’s feet – he is so excited both feet are off the ground- he pretty much bounced along.

It was questionable whether the boys were tall enough to ride the teacups but the guy let us on. The boys LOVED it!

The went from teacups to this….and while they were less than thrilled with the speed it was a train and they loves trains–so they rode it several times.

Oddly, if Alec and Leo went on a ride together Alec always insisted on sitting in the back.

It was so great to spend some family time and have some fun!

Tricycles and Tornados

Now that we are back in spot conducive to riding bikes we are getting Alec reacquainted with pedaling and bike etiquette.

And off they go:

That is as far as they got before the children next door came running out to tell us there were tornado warnings.  In this picture Erik is looking up (unfortunately I did cut off his head a little-yep I’m a pro) saying “I don’t really see any storm clouds”.

And now Alec looking up saying…”but I don’t see any grumpy clouds” and Erik still in disbelief but thankful for a reason to come inside. The mosquito’s were feasting on him.

Thankfully there were no tornados here but we did get a bad thunderstorm.

Moving Day

Moving day might have been a little traumatic for Alec.  It wasn’t his words, it wasn’t his actions, it was the company he kept all day.

Every picture above is from moving day. If a dog is a man’s best friend..I guess “doggie” (yes we are quite original aren’t we?) is a boy’s best friend.

T-Ball Anyone?

A couple weeks ago Nanny came outside in the backyard to play with Alec and I. She’s 86 years young.

Although she may miss us when we move out-I think she might miss all the toys more.

Portland Children’s Museum

This spring Alec and I have had the opportunity to visit quite a few children’s museums.

In March we visited the one in Bangor with Debbie, Katie and Nick:

A few weeks later we took a drive to visit the museum in Dover, NH with Courtney and Leo.

And in May we went to the Boston Children’s Museum with Erik:

Each time I told Alec that we were going to a new children’s museum he would ask if there was a fire engine there. The Portland Children’s Museum has a fire engine in it and we spent a lot of time last year visiting the Portland museum and therefore a lot of time was spent in the fire engine. Now don’t get me wrong, Alec liked the trolley in Dover and spent TONS of time in the front loaders in Boston but nothing beats the fire engine in Portland.

A couple weeks ago we took a little field trip into Portland for a visit to the museum and to have some lunch with Daddy. Finally! The fire truck!

The battery in my camera died right after I took these 2 pictures. It doesn’t matter…I didn’t miss too many shots because this is where we spent all our time. Alec drove and I was in charge of lights and sirens. He said I did a good job. :)  Ahhh…the fire truck…home sweet home.
