Alec and I had a little time to kill between an appointment and meeting Erik for dinner so we decided to enjoy the (new-to us) warm(er) weather and stroll through Portland. We walked down one of the wharfs – checking out all the boats and smelling the ocean. mmmmmm………

Completely unrelated to our walk: Alec is finally outgrowing this t-shirt. My mother bought it for him when was about 6 months old. It has been with us pretty much his entire life. hahaha.
Somewhat related – Alec had no idea that Portland has lighthouses like Olean has Squirrels…..he wanted to search for the rest and for the life of me I can’t remember where the rest are! hhhhmmmmmmm…….

Portland is trying it’s hand at copying Paris with the locks of love. Or whatever they call it. We saw a couple of funny ones. And a even on that had Star Wars figures glued to it.

I know I said it was warm….but it got cold FAST by the water. Thankfully we were smart enough to grab jackets and hats for we left the car.
It seems like I can not go onto Exchange St these days without grabbing donuts at The Holy Donut. I don’t like donuts that much but I LOVE theirs. Yummy. I had lemon and Alec had Pomegranate.

We spent some quality time at Tree House Toys. What a fun store. We also spent a bit of time discussing using our money vs. his money to purchase toys. None were purchased. Alec like his money too much to spend it. He found the sales lady and asked her what the cheapest thing was in the store. It was a marble for 10 cents. 11 with tax. He had exactly 11 cents on him that he found while walking…he wouldn’t even part with that.

And then it was time to meet Erik at The Thirsty Pig. Yep. We had Pig. They serve all sorts of sausages and hot dogs. It was only ok. The food was decent and the 3 of us ate for under $25 but the atmosphere was not really child friendly. It doesn’t really give the appearance of being more bar than restaurant but it was. The tv they had playing was not completely 6 year old appropriate. So for us – we will not visit there again with Alec.

Alec had so much fun walking around Portland that he walked back to Erik’s office with him to ride home with Erik since it was a longer walk than to my car. It was a silent ride home for me. I take no issue with that.
