Beach Bums

A few weeks ago on a pretty hot Saturday Alec and I had a chance to meet up with a few of our favorite people for a day at Bayview Beach while Erik was busy working on the new house.

The Todd girls (someday Todd dad will join us)

& Leo and Courtney.

As luck would have it, we reached the beach right at low-tide. It was perfect for searching the tidal pools for crabs and other fun sea stuff.

We found crabs and hermit crabs and even a starfish. Pretty cool! The kids thought it was a little too cool and we had to hide it before they ‘loved it’ to death.

Alec and Leo spent a lot of time playing in the tide pools –throwing water at each other….

Lunch was served (ala peanut butter sandwiches)

After lunch we ran into Ben, Noelle and Aaron and had some fun playing in a pool someone had created. The kids thought that was the best.

Strawberry Fields

Last week we took a trip to Maxwell’s Farm in Cape Elizabeth with ‘the Todd girls’ as they are loving referred to in our house.

Mya and Alec kept pretty close to each other –snacking as they picked. Or in Alec’s case snacking more than he picked.

Faye was a rock star and kept up with the older kids in their exploring.

Alec was a rock star in his own mind!

I love the friendship that Alec and Mya have developed. He is kind and gentle with her in a way that he treats no other child. It is so sweet. They are ‘old souls’ together.

Thanks for a great afternoon guys!

Rain and Rainbows

We were at the beach the other night when the clouds started rolling in…

Somehow we circumvented the storm on our drive home and only managed to drive through the few rain drops. We saw the biggest, brightest rainbow I have ever seen. Of course it started to fade before I could get my camera out.

It was the first rainbow Alec had ever seen and evidenced by his smile (ignore the haircut he needs) he thought it was pretty cool. And then the “why’s” commenced….
