Marathon Day

Erik and I tried hard to plan this day right. We knew there was a large amount we wanted to do and see but it had to be tempered with fun and relaxation. This planning went off almost perfectly and we had a great day.

Our first stop of the day was for breakfast. Erik and I went to this little breakfast diner about 16 years ago called The Flying Saucer and we remembered the food being ‘good’ diner food. A little internet search told us that it was in fact still open (although with mixed food reviews). Being the nostalgic type that we both are – we thought it would be fun to take Alec.

127 The area that it was in changed tremendously (urban sprawl) from what we remembered but the building (shaped like a flying saucer) was pretty much the same. And the food? It was over-priced but still good.  Erik and I tried to re-create a photo we took 16 years ago. If we had a scanner- I would scan it but since we don’t- words will have to work.  I was in front of this restaurant leaning over the small red car we were driving looking very relaxed.  Times have changed and now we are driving a van with a kiddo!  :)

After breakfast we headed to our next destination. That stop deserves it’s own post with all the pictures we took.
