I have a problem. (Some would say I have many.)
What kind of problem?
Well, a book problem.
I love them.
Especially children’s book.
I like to buy them.
Alec tells people his bedroom is a library.
Yes, it is a problem.
And 2 times a year I am faced with an opportunity to buy books with wild abandon.
I try to resist but it doesn’t work. I lack willpower.
You see, we live 4 miles from a Scholastic Warehouse and in December and May they have their warehouse sale.
I am never able to resist.
As soon as I walk into the warehouse- the smell- I can’t describe it- but I love it.
It smells like books.
The ink, the paper, the dust.
I don’t know what it is- maybe a combo of it all. I just know I love it.
And walking up and down the isles?
All those titles.
At cheap prices. (They are discounted usually 50% off and then they send coupons a few weeks before.)
Giddy.
I do- I get downright giddy walking through there.
I could (and have) spent hours going up and down the isles.
I went recently. I spent $80 and walked out with 55 books. How do you resist this?
I bought myself this last time. It wasn’t that good. But it did make me like him more than I did before. His commitment to the sport is amazing. And for Alec?
I got the first 17 books of Magic Tree House for less than $17. We are having fun reading them! We are on book 8 now.
And 26 books of the A to Z series for less than $25. I can’t wait to read these!
Plus I added to our Froggy, Duck and Ladybug Girl collections:
And of course some science books:
The good news?
He loves books too. Money well spent.
Phew!
