Yeah.
Suckadoo.
I took them out for a walk in the woods. They wanted to see Cascade Falls since, ya know, I lived a mere mile away from it for almost 10 years and never took them there.
It seemed like such a good idea at the time.
Too many roots- she twisted a certain way and tweaked her back. It rendered her broken and out of commission for about a week. Sorry mom. And she needed to heal. They still have more important traveling to do. I felt so bad.
Still looking good here.
After I broke my mom, we took her home to rest. To ensure that she actually did rest, that meant that Alec, my dad and I needed to leave the house. We can all get a tad needy at times.
What to do?
We choose to do another walk in the woods.
A new one for all of us.
The Saco Heath.
It was interesting. Sort of like the bog walk in Orono without the funding needed to maintain it.
I’ve said it before and I will say it again. Sometimes it is hard taking other people on our walks with us. Not for me- I enjoy their company immensely but for Alec who likes to stop and look at things and also likes to be the leader. This created an issue for him when he would stop to look at something and my dad would pass him. Alec would stop looking and run to catch up. He wouldn’t let my dad pass him even if he was tired and wanted to slow down. It’s an irritating quality when trying to enjoy a nice walk. I hope this ‘leadership’ translates into a little competitiveness with his grades or in athletics when he is older! Or maybe it is just the 5 year old in him. ;0)
We walked out to the Heath and through part of it but couldn’t finish it. I think it use to loop back around and maybe someday it will again.
Not a bad little walk.
Wish I hadn’t broken my mother and she could have come with us too.
