While the folks were here we took an opportunity to hit the beach one evening on one of those 90% days mid-June (as Mainers –it’s funny how we can mention 90% in June and everyone knows the days you are referring to!).
Alec trying to give Grump kisses.
Burrr…air was warm but that water was chilly. Alec didn’t seem to mind. My dad? Yeah…he did.
We hit the rocks right as the tide was going out and got ‘the usual suspect’ within minutes. The pickins were easy.
A shrimp, starfish, crabs, hermit crabs and snails. Erik stuck a really big crab in there and we had a nature lesson on Darwin and the survival of the fittest. We had the bucket to envy. All the kids and grown-ups were checking it out. Just so ya’all know- we always let everything go after collecting it all.
It was a nice, peaceful evening.
And where was my mother during all this?
I broke her.
I’ll tell you about it tomorrow.
