Thursday night we met up with the Todd family in Scarborough for some racin’ at Beech Ridge. Some people take their kids to zoos, aquariums and museums for entertainment. Not us. (this time anyway!) We indulged our inner ‘bubbas’ and introduced the kids to Thursday Thunder. It’s 2 hours of short races- amateur night. It’s pretty fun to pick a car to root for at random and watch them go! And the best? When they crash! They/we had a blast.
Racin’ is pretty loud so we used the headphones to protect Alec’s new found hearing. (He actually complains that the vacuum is too loud now!)
Love, love, love the spontaneous hand holding.
Mya is a sensitive gal who feels things deeply. Like her mom, they root for the underdog and have hearts of gold. Mya took to racin’ like nothing I have seen from her. We were introduced to competitive Mya who really liked the sport of it. She was sad they had to leave early and is already talking about going next summer. She fully embraced her inner ‘bubba’. Look at these expressions!
I am trying really to put family shots up –whether I like the picture or not. It’s hard. :)
As the night wore on- Alec glazed over more and more. After all, he had spent 6 hours at Aquaboggin that day. I wished he would have napped on the way home from Aquaboggin- I even took the slow way but no such luck. But he was a trooper. No complaints out of him all evening. We ended up leaving with one race to go. He was falling asleep sitting up. And then we heard the complaints. He wanted to stay- couldn’t we pleassseee stay longer? He wasn’t tired. Really.
Oh Really?
Two minutes into the car ride home….. fast asleep.
For the rest of the night. :)
