Ahh, yes. This does deserve it’s own post. It’s pretty funny.
See the little rock ‘island’ below? Erik and I challenged the boys to walk out to it. They hesitated but decided to go for it.
The boys were working their way out there but they kept yelling that their feet were getting stuck. Erik and I thought they were just whining and told them to figure it out. Below- Leo isn’t sure what he is going to do.
Alec decided to keep going. Leo and Ben are still figuring out what they are going to do. They yelled to Alec that they needed help.
Alec went back and with a little teamwork they all made it. It was so adorable to watch them work through the issue and care for each other.
I couldn’t love that last picture more.
We had them do it alone for a sense of freedom, self-esteem & pride but we were nearby at all times. And once they were out there –Erik made his way out to it to be close by.
After playing on the island for a while they worked their way back (the tide was almost out)…..guess what? There was A LOT of mud!
Their feet really were getting stuck in the mud!
And what do little boys do when they have mud available to them?
They were covered!
It was so awesome for them. They just got to have fun & go wild without worries. So very cool.
But all too soon, it was time to get them to some fresh clean water. We sprayed them down, got them dressed and sent them to the playground so we could breakdown the campsite. It took minutes and then we were on our way.
I think it was successful camping trip…don’t you? :)
