Missing Teeth, Books & Art

After many, many, many years with his wisdom teeth Erik finally had them out. He came home and went straight to bed. Alec was concerned and wanted to be helpful so he very gently laid caution tape over Erik so that no one would touch him. Seriously, how cute is that?IMG_0932

He also dressed like a doctor to take care of his patient.

With all this love and attention the patient wasn’t getting much rest so Alec and I vacated the house so the patient could recuperate. It was rainy and cold and there wasn’t much to do. Bless RSU 23 for having a day off the Friday before vacation week. Erhhh. I drove aimlessly and ended up at the library. We spent almost 2 hours there just hanging out.

I sat on one of the comfy couches and read while Alec wandered around and played. Eventually he settled down and let me read him a few stories. Hope’s Gift choked me up a few times and I had to swallow it down. It’s about a slave who runs off the farm to fight in the war and how much his children miss him while he is gone. My Crocodile Does Not Bite is pretty cute and a much lighter read.

What I am reading now:

To kill a little more time we went next door to the Saco Museum. The visiting exhibit right now is the RSU 23 art show. It was really neat.

We looked around until we finally found Alec’s art work. Take a look:  Do you see anything unusual with the class shot?

Alec’s turtle is the only one that is blue. He said they (whoever they is) got mad because his turtle wasn’t green. I told him art was personal and not to sweat it. Not sure that was the right answer but I said it to him anyway. Hope that doesn’t come back to bite me someday.

Some cool stuff:

After looking at the art we went into the main part of the museum. Alec wanted to know what the oldest thing in the museum was. It took some searching but we found it. Some pottery from the 1600’s.

After killing 4 hours we went home to check on the patient and found him still in bed.

Dr. Kurlanska says ‘he’ll be fine in no time”.

Thank goodness!
