An apple a day may not keep the doctor away!

Alec and I went apple picking yesterday with Hilary. Yes, I know he is sick –no need to remind me. Except maybe someone should. See, Alec is not a complainer when he doesn’t feel well. He just plugs along and if you don’t bother to ask him, he won’t mention it until it is too late. Erik and I are now convinced that he had an ear ache (infection) the whole time we were at Story Land but the darling waited until 10:30 that night to share that information with us.  He woke us up saying “ I have an ear infection”…..thank you Dr. Kurlanska. Sunday, after a trip to the doctor’s office and a script for drugs, he was right, he has an ear infection. Beyond being tired from the previous day at Story Land he acted completely normal. So I kind of forgot he still might not be feeling great. And a day later we went apple picking….

(the guy kind of looks like a pumpkin with his orange shirt and brown hat- huh?)

We walked around the orchard, we ate and picked apples, we looked for pumpkins. We had a great time with Auntie Hil.  As we are driving the bending, bumpy, hilly back roads to our house from the Orchards I can hear from the back seat “ouch, ouch, ouch”. Alec, what’s wrong I ask. His very matter-of-fact response “ My head and ears have been killing me for hours”. Whoops. And last evening…full blown pink eye.   In case you are wondering, I am a stellar mother.
