Boston Day 1

  • We have turned our child into a decent traveler. He can(for the most part) back his own bag. And bigger deal- be responsible for it. Absolutely adorable watching him pull it and dance along. We brought the big suitcase in case we needed to put his in it…it was unnecessary.

032

042

  • Train tickets were worth every penny. He was thrilled to be riding it again and was pretty well behaved.

051

  • Subways no longer thrill him. Or phase him. At all.

053

  • It is very disconcerting to walk up to your hotel and see picketers. They were picketing the FDA –the president of it was at the hotel. Apparently she took too long to approve a new cancer drug and these folks were pretty upset about it.
  • Erik and I have stayed at this hotel before. Neither of us remembers any of it except that we did. Getting old much?

057

  • We dropped bags at the hotel and headed to the science museum. And yes- the weather was as cold and gray as it looks. Happy to be inside for the day.
  • Lucky for us- Fridays in March are Free Film Fridays. We got to see 2 Omni Max movies FOR FREE! What a nice surprise!

061

  • We had the cafeteria lunch. It really does have the best city view.

082 088

  • Alec sometimes makes us play ARGO with him (yes, really). ARGO is the underwater sub that found and explored the Titanic. The museum has a Shipwrecked exhibit. He was most interested in this.
  • They also had a hurricane simulator. He would not go in that.

086

  • The electricity show has not changed in 30 years. ‘nough said. Alec really enjoyed it. Erik and I really enjoyed watching Alec enjoy it.

106 105

103

  • For a while he and Erik went and sat in the sun (it appeared for a few minutes) by the windows and watched this thingy. It’s a continuous moving ball thing. I am sure there is a real name but I don’t know what it is.

095 099

  • They have an under 8 area of the museum that Alec seemed to enjoy the most. Between this trip and our DC trip –he is officially sick of museums.

119 120

  • We checked into our room pretty late. As soon as we were in the room –Alec unpacked and got ready for bed. Remember how I said he packed himself? Well- he packed things to make us feel at home. Picture frames for our bedside. :)

121 122

126

  • A crappy nighttime picture for your enjoyment.
  • Lights were out by 9 and we were all asleep by 9:05.
