Teenager

Alec walks into his room yesterday: “wow this room is messsyyyy! I must be a teenager now.”


Me: “Huh?” (standard answer to most things Alec says)

Alec “Teenagers have messy rooms and I have a messy room so I must be a teenager”

Me: blank stare

Alec “Well Katie and Adam have messy rooms and they are teenagers. It is SO cool to be a teenager.”

Me: “You are 5 – now clean your room”

Alec: “Teenagers don’t have to clean their rooms. Katie and Adam don’t….. And I am NOT 5..I am 4 and ¾.“

ME : “You are 4 and 11/12’s”

Alec: “See? I told you I was a teenager.”

ME: Hangs head and walks out of room.
