One Sunday I took Alec to church. It’s not a common occurrence in our family but it happens..especially if my mother is in town. And since she is coming and will be here on a Sunday I thought it best to get Alec reacquainted with the proper etiquette in preparation. It was a non-event. We went. We prayed. We sang. Alec was good as gold.
Home we go.
All well and good.
Since it was a beautiful day, we decided to go to for a walk in Ferry Beach State Park. And here we are:
For us, we took the path less traveled and walked the part of the park that takes you to the ocean and the beach. You had no idea did you? Alec didn’t either. Yep- you can access the beach from the park. We just never do.
From the beach we walked back to pond and the favorite area to play and check it out.
All this walking gave Alec ample time to consider his time spent in church this morning.
As we were walking back to the car Alec asked me – ‘Why were we singing to Jesus if Jesus is dead- and he can’t hear us?’
And later he trumped me with ‘If people killed Jesus on the cross then why didn’t God get there in time to save him? Why did God let him die?’
Ummmm….ask your grandmother.
Oh yes, Mom.
You have your work cut out for you when you are here.
Better get your answers ready now.
