We vacationed in Bangor last weekend. Erik took Friday off and we drove north early. We had a quick stop in Freeport and then off to the big city. We lunched at the Friars’ House. We had never been but we had heard really good things about it so we made it a point to get there.
The knew the menu was limited and walked in with fingers crossed that there would be something Alec would like. And there was ..phew! I also bought the last bag of whoopie pies for the day….at noon. They sell out quick. It was all very yummy.
Alec could not figure out why there were so many churchy things in the restaurant. His questions were typical and comical. I wish I could remember them!
Our next stop was the Children’s Museum. Erik had never been to the Bangor version before and he wanted to check it out. It ranks right up at the top of my list along with Boston. We enjoyed a few hours of playtime with very few other kids and then we were off to Old Town for the meet and Katie’s birthday.
Quality family time was a good way to start off a traveling weekend.
