DOI (Disney on Ice)

I didn’t plan on going.

Really.

McKenna’s mom had asked me if I wanted to take the kids and after much consternation I declined. I just didn’t want to spend the money on tickets right now. Or maybe ever.

Then Saturday Erik’s mom called and said she wanted to treat Alec and I to tickets. With such a generous offer- how could I say no to that?  We got our tickets and I let McKenna’s mom know the change of plans and where our seats were. As luck would have it –they found seats with us. Win-win!

It was a pretty chilly walk up from the parking lot.

Nana treated Alec to an outrageously expensive glow swirly thing that he thought was the coolest thing. She was just as happy to buy it for him as he was to get it. Good thing Nana was there- I never would have bought it for him!

I was pleasantly surprised at how good this show was. It seemed to lack a plot line but with fancy skating, cute and clever costumes you don’t seem to notice too much.

And really it was about making the child and the grandparent happy. And they were.  :) Me too!
