Lets talk about my nieces and nephews shall we?
When we had Alec so much later than my sisters had their children I was so worried that Alec would never have a relationship with his cousins because he was so much younger. How wrong I was! They don’t treat him like a sibling (except for maybe Nick). They are much nicer than to him than a sibling would be. They are incredibly kind, patient and loving with Alec.
Let me take a moment and and show you what an important role they play in Alec’s life.
They feed Alec copious amounts of chocolate and protect him from mom’s evil glares.
They play crazy games with him. (I have no idea what Nathan and Alec are doing this picture!) Maybe checking out a spider?
They spend hours in the bounce house not because they want to jump but because they know that’s what Alec was wants to do.
They play dress up with him even if they are getting a little too big/old to fit in the costumes.
They take a time out to let him touch and play even though they are busy.
They spin him on the sit-n-spin and steal him even more chocolate. ;)
Now, these pictures are all from Thanksgiving but I could find countless other pictures and examples how lucky Alec is to have older cousins.
Oh, and did I mention they babysit?
I am the lucky one, too.
