A little 5K

Erik signed up for the local 5k months ago to benefit the community center. It seemed like a good idea at time. By the time it finally rolled around – it was chillier and he really wasn’t sure he was so into it. Alec was signed up for the kids run and really wanted to do it so off we went.  This was a totally small affair. No mile markers- no water stations.

Being so small- pick up was a breeze.

A little pre-race stretching.

And before we knew it they were back…10th for Erik.

074 077 They put on a pretty decent spread for the awards.

082 And the t-shirts. Erik’s comment was “where’s my shirt? I only run these things so I can get the shirt”. As if he needs another t-shirt in his life!

003 Another for his collection!

Soccerween & Parent of the year

We did a little costume change after the breakfast and headed out to the last soccer game. Since a vampire is really not conducive to playing soccer we pulled out the ol’ spiderman costume- warm and easy to run in. But apparently he has grown a bit.

And the parent of year? Sending him into a soccer game round-robin without shin guards. He came running off the field saying he couldn’t run anymore his legs were hurt from all the cleats kicking his legs and that’s when we realized our mistake in our haste. Awesome.  He pretty much stayed away from all the players after that! Oh and he kept complaining that his ankles were cold. :)

Pumpkin Valley Farm

030 033

We spent a Saturday afternoon hanging with the Todd girls and playing on the fun stuff at Pumpkin Valley Farm in Dayton. The weather wasn’t great but we still had a really good time.

079 035 Above- a view of the corn maze.  We only made it through phase 1. It’s really big!

So many choices! The bounce pillow, cow tractor ride, corn shooter, slide, animals and hayride. Where to start?!

I am not ashamed to share with you that I pretty much made made them go on the cow ride. They were moaning and groaning. I just needed them to go on it one more time. How can they possibly think they are TOO OLD to go on this? Ugh.

And then the pillow. The beloved pillow jumpy thing:

These kiddos are more than friends- they are family to each other. It warms my heart spending time with this family.
