Newest Strawberry Fields Kiddo

001

This is Sammy. Samuel Elliot Knox. It’s always exciting to have babies in your life. And now I have two! Although Paulina is hardly tiny anymore. She’s almost like a toddler compared to this little guy.

And isn’t this the worst picture of me ever? Whatev’s. You can tell I’m pretty happy and that he is oh so super sweet. I love snugggly babies! And seriously, don’t you just want your own snuggly outfit with ducks on it? *sigh*

005And this kid. He loves a baby too. Ben wasn’t at the hospital yet so Alec didn’t have to share him much. Except with me! A big thrill for him was when the nurse came to check the baby and she let Alec hold him. I thought he was going to twitch right out of his skin he was so excited.

007

And then the buds were reunited.

Ben is going to be an amazing big brother. This kid has tons of love to share.

Grumpy old man look.

Don’t you wonder what Ben was thinking in this one?  :)

Small Victories

IMG_1009I walked into the square bedroom one morning to find my extremely resistant reader- reading out loud to the cat.

Queue the tears.

Metal Detecting

For Christmas Alec received a metal detector and after a snowy winter it was finally nice enough to open it up this past weekend. We started out with it in the yard practicing:

003I am not sure who who got more frustrated here- Erik wanted to do what the manual said-Alec just wanted to use it. I hid behind the camera.

It’s a junior sized and pretty light weight. Alec never complained about carrying it and found all sorts of debris in our backyard.

016

Then we headed to the beach to look for any pirates treasure that could have washed up on the shore over the winter.

021

It was a beautiful day but that wind was oh so chilly.

053  055057058066 We found nothing,-nanda,-big empty zero, zilch. We are looking forward to returning with it in the summer evenings to look for all the stuff the tourists drop during the day! Treasures!

What was superb is that we made it to the beach 2x this weekend. Thank goodness spring is here. Now if it would only get a little warmer. :)

Flying a kite

It’s seems rare we have a Saturday with few plans…or no plans. We took advantage of a windy day and of that free time (I dragged Erik away from some random house project) and went to Bayview to fly a kite or two.

Alec forgot how much he liked the beach. As always we had to force him off of it with threats of early bed time, no screen time and the like. He could have spent the rest of the day there. It was still a little too chilly for Erik & I.

Friday Phone Pics

We were all over the place this last week:

We stopped by Nanny’s to get a few things and pick up the yard a little. There was a little spring color popping up!

2 treadmill workouts this week. Monsters Inc. & Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.

Playground with Ben & Noelle:

Different playground with Ben & Noelle on a nicer day during the week. We spent over 2 hours playing… we were the diehards of the playground.

Alec spent April vacation week at gymnastics camp. He loved it.

IMG_1003 IMG_1005

We still have criminals and car issues in our house. I wasn’t joking that it is a weekly occurrence. I think the train was going along nicely until something bad happened. Incidentally,  the train sat in this walkway for 4 days just as is before anything happened to it- we all just stepped around it or over it. The little green car got cornered but must have escaped.

 IMG_0997 IMG_0998

It ran into the train and derailed it.

IMG_1010

There were a lot of emergency vehicles on the scene.

Always something going on in this house that involves cars and emergency vehicles.

Another day at gymnastics camp I came to pick Alec up and he was just sitting there (he’s the one in the orange shirt) and he wasn’t moving. They were doing a ‘spoof’ on 80’s aerobics and Alec just wasn’t biting. He was also starving and had no energy but we didn’t figure that out until later.

IMG_1024 IMG_1023

I coerced him into doing some yard work for me. As you can see by the way he is dressed- temps were all over the place this week.

Last day of gymnastics camp.

Noni sells 31 Bags  and Debbie wanted to know what the reversible one looked like so I modeled and texted her the pic. It’s rare there is a picture of me.

IMG_1038And the wristlet:  It’s cute huh? :)

And that’s our week in pics.
