Fall again…just for a moment!

Since the temps were suppose to be in the mid 60’s this weekend, which is downright balmy for mid-November, we grabbed the Todd girls and went for a walk in Wells at the Rachel Carson preserve. It’s a nice little mile loop that’s super easy with great views.008

Feed me please….

I picked up Alec from daycare today and he asked me  if we could go to Target….intriguing…why in the world would my 3 year old want to go to Target? Well,  because they have the best soft pretzels of course. My answer..no. But I then realized I had nothing out for dinner so I called Erik and we agreed to meet at Pizza Hut for dinner.

ME: “Hey Alec we are going to Pizza Hut for dinner”

ALEC:  “Now that’s what I’m talkin’ about”.

Really..we are only here to please him.

BounceZone

We haven’t done much lately. It’s been cold and dreary. I’m not ready for winter but I fear it’s almost here. To break out of the boredom Ben, Noelle, Alec and I ventured over to the BounceZone to let those overactive boys get some energy out.

As you can see, we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves which made it nice. The boys just ran from one thing to the next and back again.

They both are great jumpers and got some serious height.

Up and down..up and down…up and down..over and over and over again.

Noelle and I played a little along with them. It was fun. Now we are both hoping for great naps from the boys!

2 thumbs up from Noelle!

It’s a baking day!

On this cold and rainy Monday, Alec and I pulled out the baking gear to kill some time.  Oddly..my 1 can of pumpkin turned into 2. Not sure how that happened?! I do love pumpkin!

My trusty helper was ready….

I mean the mixer not the young one. :) He seems to always get into trouble while we cook. Like this…..

I think he got it all.

I over filled the pans. Oops!

Way too much on one of them!

But they still came out pretty tasty!

Sausa Out?

When Alec much younger and trying to speak he would say “sausa –out”.

Sometimes it was a question and sometimes it was a statement. Erik and I had no clue what he was talking about.  After a while Erik would ask “sausa-out?” And sometimes Alec would say “it’s sausa out” and sometimes when Erik would ask Alec would say “no”.  And Erik would say “What does it mean? “ And Alec would laugh and laugh and laugh and never tell him.

It drove Erik crazy.

This went on for a quite a while but then we kind of forgot about it.  One day recently it reappeared and Alec started saying it again. And he laughed and laughed and laughed.  Of course now that he can speak clearly we asked the obvious. “Alec- what does sausa-out mean”?  He so very matter-of –fact answered “it’s dusk out”.

A 2 year mystery solved.

Was it as anti-climatic for you as it was for me?

But hey’ it’s sausa out. I gotta go get that kid to bed! :)
