A few weeks ago (before Thanksgiving) I had to make the trek to Freeport. Erik was in Vegas which means I was making the trek alone with Alec. Have I mentioned that most of the time I don’t like to be alone? No? I think it is caused by being child number 3. So, in an attempt to make this journey fun – I dragged Carrie and the girls with me. Now, she’ll tell you I did not coerce her into going but I think Todd dad and I might have strong armed her a little. :) I just love Carrie for being such a good sport.
Alec and Mya did their soccer thing and then we all piled into the car for our little adventure. I really just needed to return something at Beans – so we were not in any danger of children melting down from too much shopping. We might have been in danger from having too much fun!
First stop.
Upon arrival in Beans we found out that it was their holiday festival. We stumbled upon some nifty Christmas tree ornament making in the children’s department. Fun!
Moving on ….
Take a look at Faye’s face. Carrie and I were just chatting away and then I see some people chuckling- we look over and Faye’s face is completely covered with chalk dust. Too cute.
At this point this may or may not have been too many crafts for rambunctious you young children so we headed outside for a sleigh ride!
I love, love, love, love how well the kiddos have been getting along and enjoying each other’s company. Listening to their stories, making jokes in the way back of the van and all the giggles. Love the giggles. I feel so lucky that Alec (and I) have such great friends to spend time with.
There really were horses. :)
The children played for a little while longer and then it started to get dark so we headed home.
A great way to kick off our holiday cheer a little early!
