What would summer be without a trip to the doctor and some x-rays? Yep…we got that covered. Alec’s hospital ‘blue card’ expired a few weeks before we had to go back. Figures.
Thankfully the hand was not broken but just very badly bruised. Phew!
A Sunday evening spent on the beach:

Growing, growing, growing….
Our little vegetable garden was prosperous and the sunflowers grew high and are opening up for a nice bight yellow ‘hello’ to fall.
All that cleaning Alec and I did while Erik was away in Akron? It prepared us for an impromptu visit from Pam and Hannah who were in Boston visiting colleges. How is it 2 of my nieces and 1 of my nephews is/are old enough for college? It doesn’t seem possible. *sigh*
And as Pam and Hannah drove out of the driveway I got a text from Debbie saying she and Jeff and Nick were going to stop and spend the night on their way back from dropping Katie off at college. We already had dinner plans with Mike and Marion who were in town for Mike’s REV3 triathlon. We had a houseful. Just the way I like it.
While Erik was in Denver for the week (yes he left again), Alec and I took in another play at the Ogunquit Playhouse. Alec was less than pleased with the selection. It was sold out and there were tons of little girls dressed up as Ariel – I thought Alec was going to freak. He enjoyed it even if it was a ‘girls show’.
We were pretty busy while Erik was Denver.
We hit the beach:

We went to Kiley’s birthday party at Jokers:
We went to Alec’s open house at his school so he could meet his teacher for the first time. The week before school school starts he gets to meet her again for a 1 on 1 for 45 minutes and then a few hour visit on Friday with his class. Both of those events are without the parents so this was pretty much my only chance to lay eyes on her.
We had one of our last visits to the farm. We still have 8 or so weeks left but Hilary will just stop on her way home from work from now on.

It was a busy week that Erik missed- Alec also had his last day at his summer camp at Kidz Go Eco.
This little girl is Erik’s cousin’s daughter Haylie. I guess that makes them 2nd cousins. They spent some time together here at KGE. Alec enjoyed his time at KGE has said he would like to go again. We’ll see.
He got his hairs cut for the first time since May.
Before and after (of course the after is messy)
A trip to Funtown with Ben and Noelle.
I think that wraps up our summer.
Good times this summer.
Time for fall and all the fun that it brings!
