Driving around MA

On Friday the 13th Alec and I went on a little adventure. We had to drive into western MA to meet Courtney, Noel and Leo so I could pick up Leo and take him home with us for a few days. Driving through MA on a Friday is like being stuck in a giant parking lot. Boo.

From there the boys and I had to drive to Logan to pick up some weary travelers.

Remember how I said I broke my mother I felt bad because she had bigger trips to take? Yeah, she and my dad and Katie went on 2 week trip to England (and a little Scotland). How fun. Thankfully she healed just in time to go.

Did I mention that I left the house without checking to see if their flight was delayed? It was. We had some time to kill. This kept them busy for a while.

Downtown OOB

I found these pictures the other day from earlier in the month.

One night we convinced the Petits to leave the lake and come to OOB for some fun. It’s always nice to hear the stories from Erik and Todd’s younger years and enjoy the unhealthy food.  ;)

Alec thinks he is part of their family. We had to coax him out several times so they could get a family shot. Actually, I think Alec would prefer to be part of their family- he was not made for only-child life. He loves being in the middle of all their fun (and fights) He never seems to need a break or time for himself. He just bounces with the punches and keeps going. This is not to say that he he doesn’t have only child tendencies because he does. OCS is what we call it- Only Child Syndrome.Todd coined the phrase – he was usually quick to point it out –and seeing how he is an only- my response was usually a mature ‘takes one to know one.’ :)

This was the last night Alec saw them and once in the car he sobbed and sobbed. 2 parts being over-tired –1 part just plain sadness that he won’t see them for another year. oh the tears.

Old School

With all the camp and beach time we have been having this summer, Alec and I decided to go ‘old school’ one day and just hang out with a sprinkler.

‘twas a beautiful day and we were feeling a little low key.

046

So, we pulled out the ‘ol slip’n’slide.

016

I also watered my plants while Alec played. 2 birds, 1 stone. I rock.  ;)
