I have no idea! It’s been busy but I don’t have much to show for it. The month just went by in a flash. School, Lego Academy, swimming lessons & soccer. Throw in some friends, homework, school events and holidays and poof it was over!
We’ve read some books…
Have You Filled a Bucket Today and Zach Gets Frustrated were both really good books and we have implemented some of the teachings from both books. I highly recommend them. We are still keeping track of the books read. We are well over 300 but Alec has not yet decided to go collect his books from the librarian for his reading goal. Not sure why….
We did a little metal detecting. We discovered there is lots of worthless metal scraps hidden in our backyard.
We’ve had some friends over and played in the neighborhood.
We’ve done some crafts….
Spending some time with our favorite little birdies… they are completely part of the family now. I even bought them stockings for Christmas.
We’ve spent some time teaching Alec how to play Monopoly Jr. He seems to really like it. I think he really likes money. Just like his momma.
There has been lots of down time relaxing and mythbusting; watching and actively participating. We even found one of the experiments at Mardens.
More crafting….
More exploring…
The Letourneau’s came for Thanksgiving. It was pure cousin fun. They looked thrilled don’t they? We all hung around, cooked, did what we wanted and relaxed.
I have no pictures of out Thanksgiving dinner. Debbie took those..maybe she will share them with me soon and I can put them up here. We had prime rib –done in Erik’s ‘set-it and forget it’, homemade mac & cheese, fresh veggies, roasted broccoli and kale, applesauce, pumpkin bread, rolls, mashed potatoes, pepperoni bread…we seem to really love carbs….. I don’t do turkey…especially not on my birthday.
After dinner we played Hedbanz for hours and then Katie and I took a walk around the neighborhood.
We also celebrated my birthday, too!
My party guests….
After our guests left Alec took some time to sit quietly and color.
After the down time we walked down to the basement and grabbed the tree. We are going fake this year…a little too much travel planned to sustain a live tree.
Shania loves Christmas and was immediately drawn to sit under the tree. We are going to let her spend as much time as she wants there. I suspect this will be the last Christmas she will be with us.
Mark came back….
Alec is interested in getting to know Mark this year –so he made a mailbox to leave Mark notes. This should be interesting…..oh boy!
And I guess that brings you up to date on our November.
Stay tuned for December…it’s gonna be a busy one!
