Aquaboggin
Plain and simple…..we love living so close to the ocean. We love to play in the waves, we love to play in the sand, we love to walk those beautiful 7 miles of coastline. Can you sense there is a BUT coming? BUT…. every once in a while we get sick of tracking sand through the house so we take break from the sand & surf and hit Aquaboggin for heat relief. And that is just what Alec and I did on Tuesday with Leo and Courtney.
They are ready to rock’n’roll and irritated I made them stop for a photo.
We tried to get there as soon as it opened so we could claim the only shade near the toddler area which is why they are the only ones there. For now.
Of course we had lots ‘o’ snacks.
They are getting a time-out for not sharing plus hitting and pushing (each other and thankfully not someone they did not know!)
The scrapes on Alec’s legs are from a fall on the rocks on the 4th of July. The big blue band-aid is from a fall into a full length mirror. His little legs are a mess!
We spent quite a bit of time in the wave pool too…but that wasn’t conducive to taking pictures plus sometimes mom just needs to put the camera down for some quality playtime! :)
We had a great day!

4th of July –Part 2
After a long day at the beach we all were feeling quite lazy –not to mention the pink house was 90 degrees (literally) –and so we were also feeling quite hot. The crowds at the fireworks held no appeal so we decided to take Alec to his 1st movie in the theater. Yeah..air conditioning! I was pretty apprehensive about this endeavor (darkness/loudness/inability to sit still/talking too much). Alec and Erik, however, were pretty excited about this new adventure. I thought the previews for this ‘G’ rated movie were totally inappropriate but once we got through those it was smooth sailing.
(and yes I really did dress Alec in red, white and blue for the 4th)
Waiting for the movie to start
We went to see Toy Story 3. This next picture is not great but I thought how cute it was that he brought ‘doggie’ his beloved toy to a movie about Andy’s beloved toys and their future. I did get a little weepy at the end of the movie looking over at Alec all nestled on Erik’s lap hugging his doggie and thinking about how fast they grow up. Sappy – I know. :)
Definitely not a great picture of doggie!
4th of July
Erik, Alec and I spent our 4th of July at the beach doing the usual: relaxing, eating snacks and looking in the rocks for sea creatures. It wasn’t the most exciting 4th but it was certainly was one of the most relaxing we have ever had.
Climbing on the rocks was easier once he got the water shoes on
our little pool we made
Nana stopped by for a visit.
mmmm…….chocolate cookies….
A little fall on the rocks ….
Too cool

Grump’s 70th Birthday
July 1st was my dad’s 70th birthday. Since we couldn’t be with him on his birthday we decided to send a little Maine to him! A few days before his birthday, Alec and I went to the lobster pound to order the lobsters and many questions ensued about what Grump would do with the lobsters once he received them. Alec has a slight obsession with lobsters since my dad ate one in front of Alec once. Alec was horrified. He prefers to see them alive. :)
The personal card enclosed and directions I think.
His friends for the day!
Getting ready for dinner.
Dinner is served….Happy Birthday Grump!

Under Construction
My friend Noni and I spent the afternoon today decorating Alec’s room at the new house. He hasn’t seen it yet but he is going to be psyched!
